Biryani is an Indian dish made of successive layers of rice, meats and vegetables. The most well known, in this part of the world is chicken biryani. There are many different recipes from the North and South of India and even some from countries throughout the Middle East. It is a dish that is usually very fragrant but rarely hot.
Our Biryani Masala consists of aromatic spices such as green cardamom and cinnamon, alongside dried green mango skins and saffron. Oftentimes, Biryani spices are used to marinate meat with yogurt, or even to cook vegetables.
It’s also the ideal blend to perk up a simple basmati rice which can be served as an accompaniment. Perfect to marinate chicken or meat brochettes, or to season a lentil soup or vegetable curry. Add some to a chickpea salad or even to a yogurt-based dip.
