An authentic Sichuan-grown chile. Unlike most other chiles, Toward the Sun chile point upwards when growing, acquiring unmatched flavor while absorbing all of the sun’s rays.
A moderately hot pepper with lingering undertones. Ideal for Chinese cuisine. This chile is customarily cut in half with scissors and the loose seeds are discarded. It is often paired with Sichuan chiles and peppercorns. Use liberal doses of 8-10 peppers per recipe as they are not eaten but used only to flavor the dish. Add cut Toward the Sun chile to hot oil with garlic and ginger for green vegetables or meat stir-fries. An essential ingredient of Gong Bao with peanuts.
Each bag contains 25-33 peppers.
