Pimentons are mild, sweet and fruity chiles that are smoked. Most often, they’re ground to a powder and sold as smoked paprika. They are extremely popular in Spain and are systematically used in paella and charcuteries, as well as in a wide range of tapas.
Pimentons can be used whole, flaked or in powdered form, depending on the recipe. They are compatible with poultry-based dishes, seafood, soups and stewed legumes. Smoked pimentons are well suited to tomatoes, cumin and an abundance of grilled recipes.
Imported from Spain, this is the sweet chile that is used to make genuine Spanish smoked paprika. We recommend seeding this pimenton by hand, before grinding it in a coffee mill to create a paprika that is vastly superior to any commercial product available on the market.
