This southeastern Chinese blend contains a pleasant combination of Sichuan peppercorns, Yunnan chilies and Chinese black cardamom.
We in the West always have a pepper grinder on tables. In Yunnan, small bowls of ground Yunnan spices accompany every meal. Yunnan spices make a fine blend in to which guests can dip their food with chopsticks. Simply add herbs and vegetable broth to Yunnan Spice Blend to make a table sauce.
Each region of the Chinese province of Yunnan has its own particular variety of this spice blend. Our blend comes from the Nu River valley, nearby the Tibetan border, Myanmar and the legendary Golden Triangle, home of China’s finest black cardamom and chilies.
