All the spices you’ll need to prepare your own traditional mole negro – even the recipe!
Mole is a classic Mexican dish native to the valley of Oaxaca. The best known of the many varieties of moles is the mole negro, sometimes misidentified as chocolate sauce. Included in this blend are the ancho, pasilla and chilhuacle chilies as well as all of the spices necessary for an authentic mole negro. We recommend adding your own cocoa or chocolate. The preparation of a mole is time-consuming but definitely worth the effort. Great with chicken, turkey, pork and game.
Ingredients: chile ancho, chile chilhuacle negro, chile pasilla, chile pasilla de Oaxaca, cinnamon, avocado leaves, allspice, sesame, cumin, thyme, oregano, cloves, black pepper.
