Crock pot Tex-Mex Turkey Drumsticks

A simple and straightforward slow cooker recipe that you can assemble quickly. It lasts nicely in the fridge and makes leftovers for days. 


  • 6 Tbsp olive oil
  • 4lb/2kg turkey drumsticks or wings
  • 3 medium onions, quartered
  • 1 carrot cut in large cubes
  • 15 garlic cloves
  • 1 ½ oz/50 gr. bacon, diced
  • 2 Tbsp Tex-Mex blend
  • 4 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tomatoes , quartered
  • 1 beer

    Heat a large pan on medium heat.

    Pour in oil and brown the turkey on all sides. Place the turkey in the crock pot.

    Add onion, carrots, bacon and garlic in the pan and brown.

    Add tomatoes, tomato paste, beer and salt to taste.

    Bring to a boil and pour on the turkey.

    Cook 6-7 hours on low.
