Saffron stuffed dates

Putting these dates in jam jars helps conserve them for a long time. They require very little preparation and are a great gift idea.
Ingredients
- 24 dates
- 24 almonds
- 1 generous pinch of saffron (¼ g)
- 1 cup honey
- 1 tsp rose petals

Make an incision along the length of each date. Remove the pit and replace it with an almond in each date.

Put the saffron in a small bowl. Pour 3 Tbsp. of boiling water over it and let stand 5 minutes.

Place the dates on a plate just large enough to hold them in one layer.

Pour over the honey, saffron, and the water in a small pot. Let simmer slightly over low heat for 2-3 minutes. Add the rose petals. Pour over the dates. Let sit for a couple of days.
