Sautéed green beans

These green beans subtly spiced with ginger and fennel are a perfect accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 500 g blanched green beans
  • 1 small onion, very thinly sliced
  • nutmeg or mace (according to taste), ground
  • ½ tsp ginger, ground
  • 2 Tbsp fennel seed
  • White pepper
  • salt
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • lemon juice (optional)

Method

    Sauté onion and spices in butter for 2 minutes.

    Add beans and sauté until hot. Serve.
